DEDICATED LEADERSHIP

MR. PHAN DINH THU
CHAIRMAN OF PDT GROUP
Mr. Phan Dinh Thu is a prominent entrepreneur, possessing a solid academic foundation and extensive international experience, especially in the field of Vietnam – Germany relations.
Formerly sent by the State to study in the Federal Republic of Germany, he directly experienced the historical period of German reunification – an important milestone that shaped his strategic thinking and global vision. With more than 10 years of studying and working here, he has a deep understanding of the European legal system and culture, notably leaving his mark through his role as an interpreter at the Courts and authorities of the FRG, where courage and absolute precision in complex legal records are required.
Returning to Vietnam, he continued to affirm his management capacity through executive positions at both State-owned enterprises and foreign corporations, creating a foundation for extensive international connections. Currently, he plays an important role in promoting bilateral relations as Standing Vice Chairman of the Saigon Vietnam – Germany Business Club and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam – Germany Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City.
With the vision of a founder, he has led PDT Group to sustainable development for over 20 years. Under his management, the group has affirmed its multi-industry prestige from trade, import-export to language training and study abroad consultancy. He is not only a successful businessman but also a solid bridge, contributing to raising the status of Vietnamese enterprises in the international market.

STUDENTS OFTEN ASK
1. During the program, how many hours per week are students allowed to work part-time at most?
- Students can work part-time outside of training hours, up to about 20 hours/week, provided it does not affect the vocational training process and health. However, this depends on the training contract and specific regulations of each state.
- Students are encouraged to register for overtime at the enterprise outside of theoretical and practical hours, to ensure the quality of the workplace as well as avoid unintended risks, with more support during the working process.
2. When students arrive in Germany, what will they get?
- Temporary residence registration, housing arrangements
- Opening a bank account in Germany
- Notification of enrollment schedule and integration support
3. How is the theoretical and practical learning in the German vocational training program arranged and implemented?
4. Is the internship salary of the German vocational training program enough for students to pay monthly living expenses?
- Housing (WG/Dormitory): 300 – 400 EUR
- Food: 180 – 220 EUR
- Travel (bus/train ticket for Azubi): 30 – 50 EUR
- Phone + Internet: 20 – 30 EUR
- Personal and other living expenses: 100 – 120 EUR
Total cost: 650 – 800 EUR/month
Thus, with a salary of 800 - 820 EUR net, students are fully capable of covering their own living expenses without additional family support. If spending wisely, students can even save a small portion each month. To accumulate more, students can work part-time but must ensure compliance with regulations.
5. When studying a trade in Germany, are students entitled to health and social insurance benefits?
- Health Insurance (Krankenversicherung):
+ Students receive medical examinations, medicine, and hospitalization according to the public health system's regime.
+ Most costs are covered by insurance; students only pay a small co-payment (Eigenanteil).
- Pension Insurance (Rentenversicherung):
+ Vocational training time is counted towards pension contributions.
+ Later, when working long-term in Germany, this time will be added up to calculate the pension.
- Unemployment Insurance (Arbeitslosenversicherung):
+ If students do not have a job immediately after graduation, they may be eligible for unemployment benefits (depending on the duration of insurance payment).
- Long-term Care Insurance (Pflegeversicherung):
- Students are supported with costs if they later need long-term care services (e.g., when elderly or unable to care for themselves).
Thus, when learning a trade in Germany, students not only receive a monthly practical salary but are also guaranteed health, social security benefits, and pension accumulation for the future, similar to official workers.
